Foxtails and One Ant....Yikes.
What a week. It started off with my dog waking up with only one eye open. We really didnt really panic because, well, we opened it and his eyeball was still there. He has scratched his eye before and with a little care from us it got better quickly. He is a serious nut case outside with his ball and he always gets himself in a pickle with it. But a day went by and it looked as if it was getting worse. So I took him in Monday morning. You'll never believe this.....the doc pulled out 2 foxtails and a carpenter ant. OUT OF HIS EYELID! How does this happen?? Unreal I tell ya.
I now bring you, Cone Head. Aka Jake.

Good news came though. Mandrels and silver!! I was so excited to get my package. I was very in need of a small mandrel and not so in need of a bracelet mandrel but I got it anyway. I cant wait to get in the shop to make one! Only thing is, I guessed on the tang size. Ooops...hope it fits.

I thought Id also share a couple pretties that came out of the shop this week. Oh how I love this one. It could be a keeper. The stone is just amazing and I sure wish I could have captured it on camera. Its just so much prettier in person. Its a biggin too. 63mm (2.5 inches) from the top of the setting to the bottom.

And last but not least...this spacey thing was made. I dont know how it happend but I definitely got carried away with the dots. Are you just sick of it yet? Hope not because Im not! I love the result. It reminds me of something space like. Or bug like.

Enjoy!

Simplicity Ring
Oooh this turned out so nice! What a spectacular piece of turquoise. I was originally making the setting for a necklace and changed my mind half way through. So glad I did because it was definitely meant to be a ring. I have made the band in a way that it sits flush on your finger...not raised up at all. It really makes for a comfortable ring. I have to admit I pranced around the house with this on my finger for about 20 minutes.

RINGS!
Somehow I managed to make 2 rings today. Toot toot! YeaH! I seriously have no idea how I did it. Oh wait...now I remember. My house looks like a tornado hit and my clean laundry pile is now a mountain. Im about to change the sign on my fridge from, "My house was clean yesterday, sorry you missed it." to "My house was clean LAST YEAR, sorry you missed it." But atleast I did something...right?
Welp....heres some pictures of what I did do...

....treasures in my etsy shop.......
My first treasures.....
http://www.rootedinsilver.etsy.com/ is now open! I have filled it with an abundance of necklaces. Yes, I went necklace crazy. I promise you there will be rings and earrings in my next post.
Here is a peek of what has just been posted.....
A little about what I make......
Everything you see, aside from the chain, is totally handmade by me. Even the clasps and jumprings. I used sterling silver and sometimes Ill through in a little copper or gold to spice it up. My stones are completely natural and purchased from a few wonderfully kind lapidary artist and from our local gem and mineral shop. If otherwise, I will be sure and let you know in the listing.
